richmond bathroom - before & after

before - intrusive towel rail & dated decor. we moved the towel rail behind the door to open up the entrance.

before - dated and in need of storage.

before - an under utilised bath was taking up 2/3rds of the floor space.

before - dated decor needed a contemporary update.

after - cool LED spots give a sharp light, concrete floor is seamless into wet room & streamlined fixtures give an increased sense of space.

after - a slimline basin with movable tap maximises floor space & orientation into corner storage & wet room side. also a folding shower screen flexes space between wet room & the rest of the bathroom.

after - the mosaic horizontal border ties-in the concrete floor and softens the look of the decor whilst taking the eye around the room to make it feel wider.

after - neat & sleek recessed storage

after - utilising the deep window sill storage area meant creating sliding, frosted glazed panels which not only allow access to storage boxes & the back of the sill but also mask any clutter whilst maintaining a coveted light source.

Before - living room with huge fireplace trip hazard

Before - bathroom was poorly laid out & not fir for purpose

After - the spare room becomes a dining room with pocket sliding doors

After - a faux chimney breast was created to house the electric wood burner & make a neat feature, instead of the over sized trip hazard before

After - sleek & easy to clean shower panels use throughout. Toilet moved to wall so that grab rails can be installed when necessary. Vanity unit has LED lights & the bathroom has sensor spots that come on when you enter

After - the shower is now a walk-in wet room with room for a generous seat & hanging/drying space and strategic grab rails

After - The garden door is used as the main door and so the layout was worked around the ideas of having a 'corridor' created by the back of the sofa

After - the orientation of the room is towards the TV & garden windows as the furniture can now fit in more convivialy now that the fireplace has been moved & reduced in size

After - by knocking out the wall between the kitchen we created a broken plan space which feels bigger & lighter

After - extending the worktop created a breakfast bar & additional work space for preparation. A new tower unit by the back door housed the majority of foods and a larger space under the stairs is now suitable for a larger fridge freezer

before - odd layout of bed & cupboards meant there was no clear floorspace making it feel oppressive & cramped

restored - a bargain find of £30 restored & ready for the contemporary home or reception area of a salon

bespoke metal cabinet - the client liked the look of vintage metal medicine cabinets and so we took this as our inspiration to fill a corner of the living room to display her china. Designed & sourced by AC

before - a £10 second hand buy, rubbed down & painted in exterior matt white with a new handle & storage basket to complete

after - by using cool greys we were able to tone down the orange pine and install display & storage facilities for the lounge

after - installing a double glazed screen around the lounge reduced noise, chill factor and created a warm and cosy chalet feel with new layout, decoration and accessories.

after - free wifi & central heating next to bar make for a relaxed waiting time

after - extendable conference table was useful for 'after school' packed lunches for families and small business conferences during the day
